College Policies – Smoking on Campus

Edmonds CC prohibits smoking on campus, except for designated outdoor areas. Smoking is prohibited in the college’s parking lots. The policy responds to the health and campus cleanliness concerns of nonsmoking students, employees, and community members, as well as addresses the rights of smokers. Noncompliance may result in disciplinary action by the Vice President for Student Services.

There are numerous designated smoking areas and kiosks across campus. Find them on the campus map. The Office of Student Life and Development and the Associated Students of Edmonds Community College manages the Smoking on Campus policy. The policy is enforced through the Safety and Security office.

Failure to use designated smoking areas and/or the ashtrays provided is considered a violation of the Smoking on Campus policy. Security personnel will report violations to the office of the Vice President for Student Services.
