Step 1 Apply Early for Financial Aid.

Find out about the options available to help you pay for college at www.edcc.edu/finaid, or call 425.640.1457 or stop by Financial Services, first floor, Lynnwood Hall.

Step 2 Apply for Admission.

This is the first step in registering for classes. You can apply online, pick up a form at Enrollment Services, or ask to have one mailed to you.

Step 3 Determine Your Math and English Placement. 

You may be required to take the ACCUPLACER® assessment to determine proper placement in math and English classes.

Step 4 Meet With an Adviser.

Find what program is right for you. Advisers will help you develop your education plan and select the classes you need. Advising is usually available immediately after you take the ACCUPLACER assessment. The college also offers Steps to Success , Express Career Planning , and Overcoming Test Anxiety  classes.

Step 5 Register for Classes.

Step 6 Pay Tuition.

Whether your long-term goal is to earn a bachelor’s degree from a university or to learn a new skill and go to work, you can save money at a community or technical college. There are several options available to pay your tuition, including a tuition payment plan.

Step 8 Purchase Books and Get Your EdPass.

Buy your books online or from the college store. Get your EdPass (college I.D.) or ORCA enhanced EdPass card (college I.D. plus bus pass) at the college store, which will allow you to check out books from the library and more!

Education Pays in Higher Earnings and Lower Unemployment Rates

Earning an Associates Degree boosts median weekly earnings to $767 (from $626 with a high school diploma) and lowers unemployment rates to 7 percent (from 10.3 for high school graduates).

A Bachelor’s Degree — in any discipline — lifts wages to $1,038 per week and drops unemployment to 5.4 percent.
