Secondary Containment


Definition
A barrier that would prevent spilled or discharged material from reaching the environment during the time it takes for the spill or discharge to be cleaned up. Containment must be adequate to contain 110% of the contents of the largest container or 10% of the total amount of material stored, whichever is greater.
