ENRGY 150 - Renewable Energy Systems
3.0 Credits
Exploration of renewable energy technologies including solar, wind, hydro. geothermal, and biofuels as well as exploration of connection to the utility grid for electrical applications. Prerequisite: Minimum English placement into BRDGE 093 or EAP 121 .
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Define and describe distributed generation and its role in renewable energy practices. [REASON]
- Describe current and emerging renewable energy system technologies, including wind, solar, ocean, biomass, and geothermal. [COMMUNICATE]
- Assess the costs and benefits associated with renewable energy technologies. [REASON]
- Identify and analyze constraints that hinder the growth of renewable energy generation. [REASON]
- Identify and analyze factors that contribute to the viability of renewable energy technologies. [ACT]
