HSPTR 258 - Lodging Management
5.0 Credits
Emphasis will be placed on management roles in the operations of a lodging business, including human resources, finance, marketing/ promotions and customer service. Prerequisite: Placement in EAP 121 or ENGL& 101 (was ENGL 105) required or instructor permission.
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Analyze the role of management in a lodging operation. [REASON]
- Explain the operations and functions of each lodging department. [REASON]
- Describe the financial role of each lodging department to the business as a whole. [REASON]
- Develop strategies for effective management of each segment of the lodging operation. [REASON]
- Describe the analytical role of the manager in a lodging operation. [REASON]
