HSPTR 260 - Travel Sales
4.0 Credits Introduction to sales and customer service in the travel industry. Emphasis on communication skills, matching clients to appropriate travel products, special requirements of disabled travelers, and pricing and selling travel insurance.
Course Objectives Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Explain and demonstrate the importance of quality customer service in a sales transaction. [REASON]
- Describe and demonstrate how to match customer needs and preferences to the appropriate travel product. [REASON]
- Evaluate and coach peers in the development of sales skills. [COMMUNICATE]
- Accurately price retail travel products and compare, evaluate and accurately price travel insurance policies. [REASON]
- Describe and demonstrate effective listening and questioning skills used in travel sales. [COMMUNICATE]
- Describe and discuss how to arrange accommodations for disabled travelers and other populations requiring travel assistance. [REASON]
