HIST 034 - Contemporary World Issues I
5.0 Credits A study of U.S. foreign policy issues and their impact on other countries. Topics covered may include: terrorism, U.S. military involvement, global trade agreements, U.S. defense policy and others. HS completion class; counts toward Contemporary World Problems and/or U.S. History II credit.
Course Objectives Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Apply knowledge of maps, charts, and other geographic tools to understand the spatial arrangement of people, places, resources, and environments on earth’s surface. [EXPLORE]
- Define the purposes and organization of international relationships and how U.S. foreign policy is made. [REASON]
- Identify various historical, social, economic and political issues from selected regions of the world. [REASON]
