MGMT 101 - Introduction to E-Commerce
5.0 Credits Covers the key business and technology elements of electronic commerce. Students learn about revenue models, marketing, business-to-business strategies and virtual communities and social networks. Course also introduces basic Web server hardware and software as well as electronic commerce software, security and payment systems. Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify and explain the key features of the Internet.
- Describe and analyze how the Internet is used to market, sell, and distribute goods and services.
- Analyze various websites, including their structure and design.
- Analyze and examine security programs to protect business and clients.
- Develop criteria for establishing an effective business presence on the Web.
- Examine the legal, global, and ethical issues confronting electronic commerce.
