HIST 030 - Civics in Action
Maximum of 5.0 possible Credits Participation in various activities that promote understanding of government at all levels. Emphasis will be on rights and responsibilities of citizenship. Counts toward U.S. History, Contemporary World Problems, Washington state civics credit. S/U grade option. Prerequisite Departmental advising required. Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Explain the core values and democratic principles of the U.S. as set forth in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
- Analyze the purposes, organization and function of federal, state and local government.
- Demonstrate the rights and responsibilities of citizenship and the principles of democratic civic involvement.
