AHE 198 - CSPT Clinical Practicum II
10 Credits
Practical experience in the role of the Central Sterile Processing Technician in the clinical environment under supervision of facility staff and clinical faculty.
Prerequisite AHE 195 and AHE 196.
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs)
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate basic competency of skills covering the principles and practices of cleaning, decontamination, sterilization of medical instruments and apparatus, fundamentals of wrapping, sterile set-ups, safety rules and regulations, inventory control, record-keeping, and quality assurance.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with other members of the health care team.
