ENGR& 215 - Dynamics
5.0 Credits Principles of dynamics, including Newton’s Laws. Analysis of the equations of motion of particles and rigid bodies, kinematics, dynamics, impulse, momentum, work and energy. Prerequisite ENGR& 214 and MATH& 152 with a minimum grade of 2.0 or higher. Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply Newton’s Laws of Motion to particles, systems of particles and rigid bodies.
- Develop the kinematics of displacement, velocity, and acceleration for systems of particles and rigid bodies.
- Apply the principle of work and energy and the principle of impulse and momentum to mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with team members to design, model, build, and evaluate a dynamic system.
