MFG 102 - Electrical Assembly Mechanical Skills II
5.0 Credits This course is a continuation of MFG 101, the installation and termination of wires/wire bundles and cables in aircraft. Topics include proper handling of fiber optic cables, using precision measuring tools, drilling and installing fasteners, and inspection of work per specifications. Prerequisite MFG 105, MFG 120, and MFG 159 all with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Corequisite MFG 101, MFG 121, and MFG 122.
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate for completion and correctness per specifications on all projects.
- Use knowledge of routing, clamping, tying, connecting and terminating wires, coax and/or wire bundles in the installation of aircraft electrical systems.
- Properly handle fiber optic cables and related components.
- Apply math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, and fractions.
- Demonstrate proper use of scale.
- Drill, ream, and/or countersink straight and rivets, and install fasteners.
