4.5 Credits Introduction to fiberglass lamination basics. Covers understanding materials and steps of the lamination process, including review of assembly instructions, manufacturer documentation, surface preparation, and resin mixing. Prerequisite Successful completion of Maritime Manufacturing Core Certificate (classes include: MFG 106, MFG 120 and MFG 159 with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher). Corequisite MFG 145

Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate proper use of materials, tools and equipment.
- Demonstrate understanding of the lamination process, including the use of molds, surface preparation, resin mixing, layup, curing and finishing techniques.
- Demonstrate understanding of different types of fiberglass lamination, including wet-layup and vacuum bagging.
- Interpret and explain assembly instructions.
- Perform basic calculations to ensure the correct ratio and amount of resin and catalysts.
- Interpret and explain manufacturing documentation.
