Program Description The Event Planning Associate in Applied Science-T Degree is an online program designed for students entering the event planning industry or changing careers and who are interested in earning a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management. This degree requires successful completion of a minimum of 94 credits as outlined.

- Develop requests for proposals (RFPs), utilize market research and budget analysis, and analyze assessment of risks through the use of critical thinking and analytical reasoning.

- Apply the skills and abilities required to successfully plan, design, and produce an event.

Note: The Career and College Success course should be completed within the first two quarters. Students who transfer in 30 or more college-level credits with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher may be exempt from the Career and College Success course; see faculty advisor.
Program Electives (with advisor approval select up to 18 credits to complete minimum 94 credits)
The program code for this degree is 276W. For financial aid, advising, and other reasons, students should work with their advisor to ensure that this code is properly recorded on their academic record.
- The Career and College Success: Business course is a requirement and must be completed within the first two quarters. Students who have earned a certificate, degree or have completed 30 or more college-level credits with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher are exempt from taking the Career and College Success: Business course. If exempt, a course substitution of BSTEC 294 Career Management - 3 credits will be required.
- Students are required to maintain a minimum grade of 2.5 in all event planning and hospitality classes.
- Courses approved for transfer from other academic institutions must have a minimum grade of 2.0. Event planning and hospitality courses approved for transfer must have a minimum grade of 2.5.
- This AAS-T degree is a professional-technical degree with a core of general education courses commonly accepted in transfer as well as professional-technical courses. This degree is accepted at South Seattle College as a direct transfer degree into its Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Hospitality Management program.
- The BAS in Hospitality Management program requires students to complete 1,000 hours of practical experience to graduate; 360 hours (12 credits) can be completed at Edmonds CC.
- Students seeking to transfer to degree programs other than those specifically designed for the AAS-T should consider associate of arts or associate of science degrees, which are specifically designed for transfer to four-year colleges and universities.

Associate in Applied Science-Transfer General Information
Program of Study Outcomes Edmonds College’s four General Education Outcomes (Communicate, Act Responsibly, Reason, and Explore) are promoted throughout the college’s programs. Instructional programs of 45 credits or more foster learning in all four General Education Outcomes.

Credit/Grade Requirements A minimum of 30 credits or one-third of the required college level (100-level or above) credits, whichever is less, must be earned at Edmonds College. Students are required to maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 in all college level courses.
Students Are Advised To:
- Plan your schedule several quarters in advance in order to accommodate courses that are offered only once or twice a year;
- Review the college catalog for required course prerequisites and include these in schedule planning;
- Communicate with an academic advisor and/or a faculty advisor; and
- At least three quarters before you plan to graduate, contact any college(s) where you have earned credits and have your official transcript(s) sent to Edmonds College. Then, submit an Evaluation Request - Transfer Credits Form (available in Enrollment Services) to activate the process of transferring credits to Edmonds College.
Graduation Application A completed Graduation Application form must be submitted online by the 10th day of the quarter in which the student expects to graduate. Note: Applications for summer quarter are due by the 8th day of the quarter.
Transferring to Another University or College
- Admission application deadlines vary, students must meet the deadline for the university or college to which they plan to apply for admission to transfer.
- Consultation with the appropriate department or an advisor at the intended transfer school is highly recommended.
