BOT 3.0 - Board Member Code of Ethics : SUMMARY/SCOPE The Board Member Code of Ethics policy establishes the expectations imposed by the provisions of the Ethics in Public Service Law and the Board of Trustees’ commitment to follow ethical, businesslike, and lawful conduct.
DESCRIPTION The Edmonds College Board of Trustees shall ensure they are in compliance with the following:1. Members must represent un-conflicted loyalty to the people of College District 23. Accountability to employees, other organizations, and any personal interest as a consumer must be superseded by the interests of Edmonds College while acting as a college Trustee. 2. Members must avoid a conflict of interest(s) with respect to their fiduciary and policy-making responsibility. 3. Members will observe the provisions of the Washington Open Public Meetings Act (RCW 42.30.030). 4. Board members will not attempt to exercise individual authority over the organization. 5. Members will respect the confidentiality appropriate to issues of a sensitive nature, in particular, maintain strict confidentiality of all and any matters discussed in executive session.
