SS 17.0 - Drop for Non-Payment :

SUMMARY/SCOPE
Edmonds College is committed to ensuring financial responsibility and equitable access to state resources. In support of this commitment, the college has established this Drop for Non-Payment policy.

DESCRIPTION

The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges requires Edmonds College to provide census data, counting all enrolled students in good financial standing, each quarter. Therefore, the college establishes and publishes quarterly deadlines whereby all tuition and fees must be paid and establishes and publishes additional quarterly drop dates whereby students who have not paid their tuition and fees or made arrangements to pay them (through financial aid disbursement, payment plans, etc.), will be disenrolled from all enrolled classes in the current quarter, for non-payment.

In some cases, students who are disenrolled may have the opportunity to be reinstated if they address the underlying issues promptly.

Exemptions

Students in the following categories are exempt from being dropped for non-payment on the census date:

  • Students who owe $150 or less in tuition and fees for the current quarter
  • Students who have guaranteed payment, following the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges policy
  • Students in special populations who have enrollment protection due to grants or third party payments

Exceptions

The college may, at any time, make exceptions or grant extensions to the tuition and fees deadline and/or the drop for non-payment date based on extenuating, logistical, or administrative circumstances. Any exceptions to this policy must not impede the college’s ability to provide accurate census data to the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, and require approval by the President.
