PE 113 - Introduction to Fitness Principles
3.0 Credits Overview of five components of physical fitness; health benefits of physical activities; basic musculoskeletal anatomy; and development of a personal fitness program using assessment, research, and discussion. Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Explore and identify various components of physical fitness including the five major components of physical fitness.
- Demonstrate the benefits of physical activity.
- Demonstrate basic musculoskeletal anatomy.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve general health through physical activity.
- Research and document aspects of physical fitness focusing on current trends, issues, and application.
