ECED& 120 - Practicum-Nurturing Relationships



2.0 Credits
In an early learning setting, engage in establishing nurturing, supportive relationships with all children and professional peers. Focus on children’s health and safety, promoting growth and development, and creating a culturally responsive environment. Permit code required. S/U grade option.
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs)
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Document a beginning understanding of relationships and practices that support young children’s development in an early learning program through use of observations.
  2. Describe the practice of professionalism in working with children, families, and peers. 
  3. Recognize cultural responsiveness when observing professionals and programs.
  4. Identify appropriate practices that ensure and maintain the health, safety, and nutrition of children.
  5. Establish supportive relationships with children; guide children as individuals and as part of a group.
