HORT 110 - Pest Management Programming

Introduction to the basic tenets of pest management program development, materials safety, and proper use of equipment.
Prerequisite Placement in ENGLP 093 or AENGL 093 or higher and MATH 047 or higher.
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs)
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:- List and describe the principal components of a sustainable pest management program including strategies for pest suppression.
- Describe the principal types of pesticides and their general uses based on formulation, concentration, and sustainability.
- Accurately interpret pesticide labels and safety requirements.
- Calculate site area, formulation volumes, and equipment calibrations based on directions for pesticide use.
