MFG 130 - Aerospace Manufacturing Tooling I
4.0 Credits Develop mechanical skills including metrology, hand and stationary power tool set up and use, shop math and safety. Use critical thinking and reasoning skills to build one of a kind tooling in a safe, logical and efficient manner. Includes problem solving and communication. S/U grade only. Must complete with 80 percent assessment score average. Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Analyze, describe and identify the proper tools and applications to utilize in accordance with tooling work orders and engineering drawings.
- Describe various tools used in commercial aerospace manufacturing; discuss and demonstrate current, accepted industry best practices.
- Communicate effectively using various med, including online learning modules.
- Describe and demonstrate the methodology, process and standard requirements of basic and specialty hand/power tool safety.
- Demonstrate proficiency reading, interpreting and applying dimensions and tolerances from an engineering drawing to a completed project.
- Analyze work assignments to identify the tools, materials and processes required to efficiently complete a project.
