5.0 Credits An informal, nonsymbolic introduction to logic and critical thinking emphasizing real life examples, natural language applications, and the informal logical fallacies. Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:- Explain and apply basic philosophic concepts relevant to critical thinking (e.g., truth, argument, deduction, induction, validity, soundness, strength, and cogency).
- Identify informal fallacies.
- Formulate and evaluate arguments.
- Evaluate and analyze arguments in analogical, causal, and scientific reasoning.
- Evaluate and analyze arguments in context.
