EMERG 291 - Emergency Management Internship

Workplace experience to practice and demonstrate the skills relevant to performing the job(s) of an emergency management or business continuity professional. Workplace and volunteer experience to observe, practice and demonstrate the skills relevant to performing the job(s) of an Emergency Management professional. Students must have completed 80 percent of EMERG courses. Permission code required. S/U grade only. 
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs)
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Obtain Emergency Management work experience through volunteering, job shadowing, interning with an organization doing emergency management related work. 
  2. Working with site supervisor develop and submit internship learning objectives that outline what the student will be evaluated on as part of their internship experience.
  3. Using internship forms, track and document hours completed and submit all required internship forms and documentation.
