AENGL 83 - Speaking for College
Course Description For nonnative English speakers who want to improve speaking skills for college and careers, including conversation, pronunciation, presentation, and group interaction skills.
Credits Maximum of 5.0 credits possible
Prerequisite Placement in AENGL 90 or above.
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate English conversation strategies when presenting or interacting in small group discussions for college and career settings.
- Demonstrate awareness of cultural influences on oral communication.
- Apply strategies to modify pronunciation in order to be understood.
- Develop a self-monitor when speakingin order to be understood.
