GED 4 - Spanish GED® Math Intermediate
1.0 - 5.0 Credits This is a structured course to help students demonstrate competencies in operations with positive and negative numbers, rules of exponents, square and cube roots, scientific notation, solving PEMDAS, basic concepts of probability and statistics, data analysis, and geometry of two-dimensional and three-dimensional objects. This course allows students to learn new problem solving skills in preparation for passing the official Spanish Mathematical Reasoning GED® test. Completion of PREP 14 or advisor placement into GED 4 is recommended. Department orientation and advising are required before taking this course.
Este es un curso estructurado para ayudar a los estudiantes a mejorar sus habilidades en operaciones con números positivos y negativos, reglas de exponentes, raíces cuadradas y cúbicas, notación científica, resolución de PEMDAS, conceptos básicos de probabilidad y estadística, análisis de datos y geometría de objetos bidimensionales y tridimensionales. Este curso permite a los estudiantes aprender nuevas habilidades de resolución de problemas en preparación para aprobar el examen oficial GED® de Razonamiento Matemático en Español. Se recomienda altamente: Finalizar el curso de PREP 14 con anterioridad o se puede registrar en GED 4 por colocación directa del asesor. Se requiere asesoramiento académico antes de tomar este curso. Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate improvement in one or more of the following areas: operations with positive and negative numbers, rules of exponents, square and cube roots, scientific notation, solving PEMDAS, basic concepts of probability and statistics, data analysis, and geometry of two-dimensional and three-dimensional objects.
- Assess and build upon current abilities, learning characteristics, and styles.
- Demonstrate group interaction skills.
- Recall and apply test-taking strategies in preparation for passing the GED®.
- Explore and apply study skill techniques.
