GED 7 - Spanish GED® Reading/Writing Advanced

This is a structured course to help students demonstrate competencies in advanced reading and comprehension. This course provides students with the opportunity to learn new reading and writing skills with analytical and contextualized lessons. Students also learn how to develop argumentative essays in preparation for passing the official Spanish Reasoning Through Language Arts GED® test. Completion of GED 5 or advisor placement into GED 7 is recommended. Department orientation and advising are required before taking this course.

Este es un curso estructurado para ayudar a los estudiantes a demostrar competencias en lectura y comprensión avanzada. Este curso brinda a los estudiantes la oportunidad de aprender nuevas habilidades de lectura y escritura con lecciones analíticas y contextualizadas. Los estudiantes también aprenden cómo desarrollar ensayos argumentativos en preparación para aprobar el examen oficial de GED® de Razonamiento a través de las Artes del Lenguaje en Español. Se recomienda altamente: Finalizar el curso de GED 5 con anterioridad o se puede registrar en GED 7 por colocación directa del asesor. Se requiere asesoramiento academico antes de tomar este curso.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Demonstrate improvement in one or more of the following areas: writing and reading in preparation for passing the Spanish GED® Reasoning Through Language Arts test.
Increase reading/writing scores on practice tests.
Recall and apply test-taking strategies in preparation for passing the GED®.
Identify and apply study skill techniques, such as note-taking strategies, recognizing main ideas, and supporting details.
Apply reading and writing skills to produce argumentative essays.
Demonstate group interaction skills including presentations.
