PGM Code – 507C
Program Description This certificate is designed for people who wish to augment and validate their current occupation or acquire new skills to become an Internet or intranet Web Application Developer. The courses included in this certificate are available during the day, evening, and some offered online. This certificate will assist graduates in gaining employment in a field that requires them to create and maintain both Internet or intranet Web pages and sites. Specific emphasis is placed on developing interactive Web pages (those pages that will submit and receive data from the World Wide Web, Internet, or intranets). Students learn to develop the effective Web pages and sites through the use of Hypertext Mark-up Language (HTML), client-side scripting, server-side scripting or programming by gaining a working knowledge of the Internet and the various Internet services available.
Students planning to continue taking courses toward a CIS degree should plan ahead while working toward their CIS certificate. For a smooth transition from certificate to degree, students should see a CIS adviser at their earliest opportunity.
