Recommended Course Sequence for: Associate in Biology DTA

Created by: Jonathan Miller

Degree Code: CLBI

Foundation | Preparation for degree requirements (based on placement)

Some of the required courses in this degree require college level math (MATH& 141: Precalculus I and MATH& 142: Precalculus II) and high school chemistry (CHEM 139: General Chemistry Preparation). If these prerequisites have not already been met, they should be taken early in the sequence in consultation with an advisor. Importantly, the CHEM 139 and MATH& 141 prerequisites must be met before taking the general chemistry sequence (CHEM& 161, CHEM& 162, and CHEM& 163). The chemistry prerequisite (CHEM& 161 or CHEM& 121) must be met before beginning the general biology sequence (BIOL& 211, BIOL& 212, and BIOL& 213). The precalculus prerequisites (MATH& 141 and MATH& 142) must be met before taking MATH& 151: Calculus. Note that the Associate in Biology DTA can be met by taking statistics (MATH& 146) instead of calculus. MATH& 152, BIOL 210, and BIOL 293 have been chosen as electives to achieve the 90 credits for the degree; other electives from the Program Requirement Sheet could be substituted; please consult an advisor.

Students who place below ENGL& 101 and MATH& 141 begin by taking courses from the lists below.
