Program Description The Patient Care Technician Certificate program is a cluster of planned, sequenced instruction designed to prepare a cross-trained health care worker. With multiple exit points, the program consists of the following modules: nursing assistant, EKG technician, monitor technician, phlebotomy technician, and advanced nurse assisting or emergency room technician skills. Students are prepared to function as advanced patient caregivers under the supervision of a licensed nurse or as an emergency room technician. This certificate requires successful completion of a minimum of 44 credits as outlined OR a minimum of 36 credits with documentation of a valid CNA license in Washington state which eliminates the requirement of AHE 162 and 164.

Advising Note This program requirement sheet is not a substitute for meeting with an academic advisor. Meeting the requirements to graduate with an Edmonds College certificate or degree is ultimately the responsibility of the student.
