Program Description
Students ages 17 and older without a high school diploma are eligible to take classes to complete Washington state high school diploma requirements and earn an Edmonds College high school diploma. Students ages 19 and older are eligible for reduced tuition. Students who qualify by placement may also take college-level classes that meet high school diploma requirements.
Entry Requirements
Students who are at least 17 years of age and do not have a high school diploma are eligible for the AHS program. Participation in a program orientation may be required. Incoming students will take an assessment to help determine placement. Students who do not meet minimum placement requirements will first be referred to academic skill building classes. Students under the age of 18 must complete additional admissions requirements.
When to apply?
Students may begin fall, winter, spring, or summer quarter. Students should meet with a School of Academic Foundations (SAF) advisor in advance of the quarter they wish to begin. Students are encouraged to bring their high school transcript(s) to the advising meeting. The advisor will determine which credits are needed and help students select courses that match life and work schedules. Classes are offered at a variety of times and in different modalities (online and in-person).
Students are Advised to
- Meet regularly with an advisor;
- Use campus resources; and
- Attend all classes
