BSTEC 108 - Business Presentations
5.0 Credits Introduction to oral presentation techniques used in all sectors of the business community to convey a variety of information to professional audiences. Includes guidelines for the use of PowerPoint slides as a presentation tool. Prerequisite English placement score of 37 and an ACCUPLACER Reading score of 78. Computer skills recommended. Corequisite
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Analyze the targeted audience and select an appropriate delivery approach to match the audience.
- Demonstrate the ability to utilize college-level research tools to select appropriate resources related to specific report topics and apply the information to the various oral presentation projects.
- Identify and incorporate statistical data, graphs, maps and charts to support oral presentations.
- Demonstrate the ability to select and use appropriate technology tools to create visual aids as support for a variety of oral presentations: MS Word, PowerPoint, desktop publishing, Excel, CD-ROMs, Web creation.
- Deliver individual and group oral presentations that are appropriate to the targeted audience.
- Demonstrate group interaction skills in collaborative assignments.
