HORT 225 - Unusual Plants for Modern/Gardens
4.0 Credits Observe and learn to utilize many of the best new and unusual woody ornamentals available for the modern garden. Visits to specialty nurseries and area private gardens will be scheduled. Field trips are an integral part of this class. Be prepared to arrive and depart from the sites on your own. Prerequisite HORT 102 or instructor permission. Corequisite
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Recognize woody plants introduced to the nursery trade within the last 10 years for use in the Puget Sound landscape.
- Analyze and evaluate information that defines current trends in the landscape and nursery trade.
- Exchange or present information and perspectives through written and verbal means about the plants covered in this class.
