ART 128 - Survey of Western Art: Modern
5.0 Credits A survey of the modern roots of contemporary art as well as the wide range of traditional and experimental media and techniques employed by contemporary artists to create visual expression from the 19th century to the present.
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Effectively apply and discuss specific elements and principles of design in works of Western art dating from 18th century-1970 and specific course discussions. [REASON]
- Effectively describe, discuss, critique and evaluate Western art dating from 18th century-1970 in terms of their technical and artistic characteristics, content aesthetics, and social content. [COMMUNICATE]
