PHYS& 135 - General Physics II
4 Credits Topics covered will include basic concepts in waves, sound, heat, fluids, and optics. Four hours of lecture and two hours of lab weekly. Prerequisite: PHYS& 134 with a grade of 2.0 or higher and placement in ENGL& 101.
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding, at the nonmajors’ level, of the basic principles of waves, sound, heat, fluids, and optics. [REASON]
- Develop a clear understanding of the scientific method and its application to these principles. [REASON]
- Apply quantitative measures to situations involving these principles and develop a strong facility for working problems based on these principles. [REASON]
- Analyze physical systems to decide what information and principles are relevant to understanding the behavior of the systems. [REASON]
- Clearly communicate fundamental knowledge particular to physics with their peers using appropriate vocabulary. [COMMUNICATE]
