NURS 126 - Principles of Medication Administration



1.0 Credits
Introduction to mathematical principles involved in dosage calculation and medication administration. Provides information on routes of administration and pharmacologic principles. Permit code required. Prerequisite: NURS 123, NURS 124, and NURS 125. Corequisite NURS 127 and NURS 128.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Correctly calculate drug dosages, enteral feeding rates, and IV flow rates. [REASON]
  2. Describe routes used for drug administration and the nursing implications associated with each. [REASON]
