PHYS& 223 - Engineering Physics III with Lab
5 Credits Topics covered will include waves, fluids, optics, and modern physics. Four hours of lecture and two hours of lab weekly. S/U grade option (was PHYS& 233 and PHYS& 243). Prerequisite: PHYS& 222, MATH& 153, and ENGL& 101 each with a grade of 2.0 or higher.
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding, at the majors’ level, of the basic principles of waves, fluids, optics, and modern physics. [REASON]
- Develop a clear understanding of the scientific method and its application to these principles. [REASON]
- Apply quantitative measures to situations involving these principles and develop a strong facility for working problems based on these principles. [REASON]
- Analyze a physical system to decide what information and principles are relevant to understanding the behavior of the systems. [REASON]
