Associate in Science-T - Track 2 - Computer and Electrical Engineering

 PGM Code – CEE

Program Description The Associate in Science (AS-T) transfer degree is designed to prepare computer and electrical pre-engineering majors for transfer to a four-year institution with junior standing. The AS-T transfer degree will generally provide the transferring student with at least 107 credits upon entry to a four-year institution. This transfer degree will satisfy some, but not all, of the general education requirements at the receiving institution.

Students who enter Edmonds CC with clear intentions of majoring in a field of engineering are strongly advised to plan their course of study by meeting with an appropriate adviser to review the specific degree requirements for their academic program at their intended transfer institution.

Common Course Numbering Please refer to www.edcc.edu/ccn for more information.

Credit/Grade Requirements This AS-T transfer degree is awarded upon completion of a minimum of 107 credits as outlined, with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 in all college level courses. At least 30 credits must be earned at Edmonds CC.

Cultural Diversity Requirement All students earning a degree or certificate of 45 credits or more must meet a cultural diversity (CD) requirement by taking at least five (5) credits of CD courses. To learn more, go to Academic Information – Cultural Diversity Requirement  in the online academic catalog.

Students are advised to

  • Consult with an engineering faculty adviser and the appropriate department at your four-year transfer institution on course selection and completion of degree requirements.
  • Plan your schedule, in consultation with an engineering faculty adviser, several quarters in advance to accommodate courses that are offered only once or twice per year.
  • Review the college catalog for required course prerequisites and include these in schedule planning.
  • At least three quarters before you plan to graduate, contact any college(s) where you have earned credits and have your official transcript(s) sent to Edmonds CC.
  • Submit an Evaluation Request - Transfer Credits Form (available in Enrollment Services) to activate the process of transferring credits to Edmonds CC.

Graduation Application A completed Graduation Application form must be submitted online by the 10th day of the quarter in which the student expects to graduate. Note: Applications for summer quarter are due by the 8th day of the quarter.

OUTCOMES:

  • Apply the skills and knowledge acquired through coursework to analyze issues, tackle problems, and critically evaluate a proposal, claim, process, or theory as applied to Computer and Electrical Pre-Engineering.
  • Use appropriate quantitative tools to tackle scientific questions, represent data, and document scientific findings as applied to Computer and Electrical Pre-Engineering.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge acquired through coursework by effectively communicating to fellow team members, the public, and members of the scientific community, using written, oral, and visual communication methods as applied to Computer and Electrical Pre-Engineering.
  • Safely and appropriately use standard laboratory or field equipment to make precise and reliable measurements as applied to Computer and Electrical Pre-Engineering.
  • Demonstrate the understanding that science relies on evidence, and that scientific knowledge is tentative, open to revision, falsifiable and subject to constraints as applied to Computer and Electrical Pre-Engineering.

Note: Class choices depend on major and transferring institution. Choose carefully in consultation with an adviser.
