Family Support Studies - Associate in Applied Science-T Degree

PGM Code – 434U

Program Description Family Support Studies is a unique program at the college, which has received national recognition. Coursework provides education and training to students currently working or desiring to work with individuals and their families using family support practice and principles. The approach nurtures families’ healthy development by looking at families’ strengths, connecting families to community resources, and supporting and empowering parents to become advocates for their families.

This AAS-T degree is professional-technical degree with a core of general education courses commonly accepted in transfer. Professional-technical degrees are not designed for transfer to other colleges or universities. Several four-year colleges and universities have specific bachelor’s degree programs that accept the AAS-T degree: Evergreen State College, Antioch University, Seattle Pacific University, University of Phoenix, and City University.

Students seeking to transfer to degree programs other than those specifically designed for the AAS-T, should consider associate of arts or associate of science degrees, which are specifically designed for transfer to four-year colleges and universities.
