Engineering Technology - Aircraft Electronics Technician Certificate

Program Description This program trains students in electronic circuit analysis, functional testing, and troubleshooting of complex linear and digital systems. Additional material specific to aircraft maintenance and manufacturing is included. This program is intended to prepare a student to take the National Center for Aerospace and Transportation Technologies (NCATT) Aircraft Electronics Technician Certification exam. (NCATT) Aircraft Electronics Technician Certification exam. Students who complete the Robotics and Electronics ATA Degree program and ETEC 126 and ETEC 110 will also have completed the requirements for this certificate and are entitled to apply for this certificate.

Credit/Grade Requirements This certificate is awarded upon a student’s completion of a minimum of 34 credits as outlined. At least 12 credits must be earned at Edmonds CC. Students are required to maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 within the program requirements.

Students Are Advised To

  • Plan their schedule several quarters in advance in order to accommodate courses that are offered only once or twice a year,
  • Review the college catalog for required course prerequisites and include these in schedule planning,
  • Communicate with an academic adviser, and
  • Submit an Evaluation Request - Transfer Credits Form (available in Enrollment Services) to activate the process of transferring credits to Edmonds CC.

Graduation Application A completed Graduation Application form must be submitted online by the 10th day of the quarter in which the student expects to graduate. Note: Applications for summer quarter are due by the 8th day of the quarter.

  • Build a circuit from a schematic diagram.
  • Solve electronics math problems.
  • Use electronic test equipment to test and troubleshoot circuits.
  • Apply industry standard methods to the replacement of parts and wiring.
  • Identify major aircraft components and their purposes.
