Program Description This Data Management Certificate of Completion is an overview of the core knowledge and skills required of data management professionals, including data management principles, data governance, enterprise architecture, database development and operations, data security, metadata, data quality management, data warehousing, and business intelligence. The learning modules are intended to familiarize individuals with the data management body of knowledge in order to prepare for the Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) exam requirements.
This course of study was developed as part of the PACE-IT competency based online certificate program. It is intended to address the training needs of experienced data management professionals seeking the CDMP and/or CBIP certification credentials to progress in their profession. It will also provide foundational knowledge for individuals interested in pursuing a role in data management.
Prerequisites At least one year of experience in a business analyst, IT, or data management related role, or equivalent education in a related program of study. Completion of at least 30 credits in the Edmonds CC CIS Business Systems Analyst Advanced Certificate would also satisfy this requirement.
Credit/Grade Requirements All 15 of the required credits must be earned at Edmonds CC. Students are required to maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 in all college level courses as well as a minimum grade point average of 2.8 within the program requirements.
Students Are Advised To
- Plan their schedule several quarters in advance in order to accommodate courses that are offered only once or twice a year,
- Review the college catalog for required course prerequisites and include these in schedule planning,
- Communicate with an academic adviser, and
- Submit an Evaluation Request - Transfer Credits Form (available in Enrollment Services) to activate the process of transferring credits to Edmonds CC.
Graduation Application A completed Graduation Application form must be submitted online by the 10th day of the quarter in which the student expects to graduate. Note: Applications for summer quarter are due by the 8th day of the quarter.
