MGMT 101 - Introduction to E-Commerce



5.0 Credits
Many businesses have an e-commerce function to provide product information, services and transactions to customers online;and many new business models are entirely online. This course addresses consumer behavior, user experience, revenue models, and marketing. Students will prepare to work in or start an e-commerce business in retail and service industries.
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs)
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Assess emerging and effective marketing strategies that support e-commerce business models.
  2. Articulate the fundamentals of digital product management and digital merchandising practices.
  3. Outline the structure, user experience, and design best practices for an e-commerce website.
  4. Examine the current legal and ethical issues in the interest of consumer data and privacy.
  5. Develop criteria for determining a successful e-commerce business.
