CONST 281 - Building Codes II: Interpretation
3.0 Credits An in-depth study of the relationships between occupancy classification, types of construction, location on property, exiting requirements, and fire-resistive standards. Interpretation of the International Building Code and applicable parts of the IRC. Recommend completion of CONST 280. Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Utilize an empirical and reasonable approach to the building plan review process.
- Describe the intent of specific code requirements by process of application.
- Apply multiple code sections for desired outcomes.
