MUSC 190 - Introduction to Audio Production



2.0 Credits
Provides an introduction to audio terms, concepts, and equipment used in home, live, and professional studio environments. Students enrolled are invited to use the Edmonds Music Production Studios to complete large scale mixing projects. No previous musical knowledge necessary.
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs)
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Identify the basic components and equipment used in a recording studio or live sound environment.
  2. Demonstrate the basic principles of acoustics and digital audio theory.
  3. Set up and run small recording sessions.
  4. Apply common mixing and mastering techniques to multi-track recordings.
