CS 226 - Advanced UNIX: Perl Maximum of 5.0 possible Credits Introduction to the Perl language and its use in UNIX scripting. Topics include scalar, list, hash & reference variables, control structures, formats, regular expressions, file and process input/ output, subroutines, Object-Oriented Perl, and Perl’s relationship to other languages (was CMPSC 234). Prerequisite: CS 125 (was CMPSC 132) or instructor’s permission.
Course Objectives Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Design and implement PERL programs for common system administration tasks. [REASON]
