MUSC 272 - Soundsation Vocal Jazz Choir

Intensive study of advanced jazz singing and playing, including differing styles, improvisation/interpretation, vocal technique, and ensemble singing with microphones; numerous required performances/ tours each quarter (was MUSIC 244). Prerequisite: Admission by audition only in the spring for the following year.

Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Reinforce modeling to less-experienced musicians, appropriate technique, tone production, stylization and improvisation in jazz. [COMMUNICATE]
Reinforce modeling to less-experienced musicians, behavior commensurate with being in a professional performing ensemble. [ACT]
