Overview of event planning, including types of meetings and events, site location and suitability, logistics of the planning process, market and sales research, and careers in the event planning industry. Dual listed asMGMT 107.
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs)
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Describe and discuss the role and scope of event coordination as it is practiced in the various event genres.
  2. Conduct a thorough assessment of event needs and resources.
  3. Identify and incorporate appropriate event elements and services to meet the goals and objectives of an event.
  4. Analyze site and space requirements to create a comprehensive event floor plan.
  5. Design an event production schedule to accommodate vendor installations within the venue.
