ETEC 250 - Materials Engineering Design
5.0 Credits Overview of structural design utilizingmaterials including material and process selection, structural design, aesthetic qualities, assembly, and practical design information. This is a lab-based course focusing on product design. Prerequisite ETEC 200 or concurrent enrollment. Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply the basic principles of structural design utilizing advanced materials.
- Explain the advantages of planning a design to meet the manufacturing requirements.
- Apply the basic principles of material and process selection, structural design, aesthetic design, and assembly.
- Perform design, construction, and fabrication of laminated parts.
- Use appropriate terminology as it relates to structure design and manufacturing.
