Improves reading comprehension, writing, and discussion skills for academic success and general educational needs. Covers summarizing and paragraph writing that reflects a basic command of English grammar and sentence skills. Placement by permission or test results. S/U grade option.

Summarize the claims, concepts, and evidence of a text.
Cite specific evidence to support accurate inferences drawn from a range of texts, including nonfiction, literary, quantitative, and visual texts.
