HSPTR 208 - Travel Technology

Survey of reservations and booking technology used in the travel industry. Areas of study will include: Airline Reservation Systems, Internet Booking Systems, and both in-house and commercial reservations systems used in the tour, cruise, and hotel industries.
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs)
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge and use of domestic and international airline and airport codes.
  2. Analyze benefits and drawbacks of various airline computer reservation systems (CRS).
  3. Demonstrate basic functions of airline CRS.
  4. Compare and contrast airline CRS with internet booking technology.
  5. Explain and analyze the required components of both in-house and commercial reservation technology.
  6. Recognize and describe popular reservations systems for the tour, cruise, and hotel industries.
