ELA 82 - Small Business Preparation Part 2
5.0 Credits Part 2 of an intermediate to advanced ELA course to prepare students for Small Business Ownership or business courses. Students focus more in-depth on branding, marketing, web design, bookkeeping and taxes of small business while expanding skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and grammar. For students in levels 040 - 060 who have completed Part 1 and/or own a small business. This class is aligned with the Career and College Readiness Standards (CCRS), as outlined in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2016. Placement by instructor or advisor. Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs) Upon successful completion of this class, students will be able to:- Analyze and discuss vocabulary and reading related to branding and marketing strategies
- Create marketing materials for small business
- Demonstrate and use speaking strategies and pronunciation patterns to present marketing materials
- Understand bookkeeping and taxes for small business
- Produce writing or content to be used for branding and marketing
