EDCAP 41 - Level 4 (Part 1)

Part 1 of ELA 40, an intermediate-level ELA class. Students learn to understand, read, write, and speak about past experiences and events. In addition to developing their English language skills, students learn English for mathematics, computer skills, and employability skills. This class is aligned with the Career and College Readiness Standards (CCRS), as outlined in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2016. Prerequisite: Placement by instructor or advisor, EDCAP advising required.Dual listed as ELA 41.

Upon completion of this class, students will be able to:

Demonstrate the ability to use intermediate ELA grammar.
Demonstrate the ability to write an intermediate paragraph.
Identify and distinguish between main ideas and details in listening.
Demonstrate the ability to speak with level-appropriate fluency.
Demonstrate comprehension of an intermediate ELA reading text by responding to questions pertaining to the main idea and details.
Use technology to assist with ELA to navigate a learning management system, and produce documents with word processing software.
Demonstrate the ability to use math operations vocabulary for U.S. measurements and calculations
